What are the pluses and minuses "of the bill orphans photos?
I totally can see all the disadvantages for the artistic community, and have already been noted, however, I think it has potential to be something beneficial if a tight skosh. The biggest problem (IMO) is that the amount needed the effort put into finding the artist is vague. It has to be defined. If defined and orphans of work is used, and the documentary proof contact the owner of rights by all possible means are available, the company must remain responsible for paying a pre-defined basic pay for the owner, but not be sued infringement. (also, the copyright holder should be able to deny a greater use of their art if they so wish) This can not be specifically help to the professional art community in general (as they tend to make our copyright and ourselves available) but might help lift the art that can not be seen or otherwise used. There are a lot of "orphan work" there will never be seen or used for fear of copyright violation. Who know where is the artist? Could be dead without heirs, who knows. Either way, there is beautiful art out there that can be totally perfect for anybody, but Fear keeps the art ever breach the surface. I hope I was able to provide a potential "plus" for ya!
